At the start of our AS year we were set a coninuity task. For this task we had to include a match on action shot, i.e. walking through a door. We also had to include shot reverse shot, i.e. a conversation. As a group I feel that myself and Charlotte managed to film and include these techniques in our footage.
When we was first set this task, we sat down as a group and decided on a storyline for our footage to be based around. We chose an everyday subject of two friends having a conversation. We drew up a storyboard of our ideas to help us keep on track with what we had to do.

We then came up with different locations where our footage could be filmed. We visited several places around school where we felt we could film well. The idea of filming outside did enter our mind, but as inside was better lit, we decided against outside and filmed our footage on the main school staircase. As this is in a main part of school, it is very well lit and we wouldnt need 'fillers' or any other lighting components.
I took on the part of filming, whilst Charlotte and Wendy acted. I feel as we was new to the media experience, I feel that we took it well and did the best to our ability. In my opinion, Charlotte and Wendy reacted well to being filmed, and did get nervous or giggly when the filming was being done.
Soon after we filmed our footage one of the group members, Wendy, decided to leave our group. This didnt matter when doing the preliminary task, but when we started to think about the 'Main Task', Charlotte and I had to re-think any previous plans we had made from when we had 3 people in our group. However, this didnt set us back and proved to Charlotte and I that we would have to work extra hard to fill the shoes of the ex group member. We edited our footage using 'Windows Movie Maker', this proved a big mistake as our final footage was very jumpy and to on-lookers it seemed that we hadnt edited our footage properly.
If i had to do this task again I would definatly make some changes! These changes wouldnt be major, but they may have a huge impact on how the final product looks.
- Firstly I would change the way in which we edited our footgage. I would ensure that we didnt rush the editing and use a different programme to 'Windows Movie Maker'. I would use a different programme because I feel that 'Pinnacle' would make the final product look more proffessional and raise our mark
- Secondly I would make sure that our group sat down and made a more thorough plan and script. This would make our footage seem more real and not 'put on'.
